Ella and mommy took a train to Tucson, AZ so I could present at U of A.
We got to stay with my grandparents, which made the whole trip totally worth it! We survived the train ride, which consisted of chasing Ella up and down the aisles and laughing as she fearlessly approached other passengers and began chatting them up. She even made a couple friends ;)

Ella hit the birthday party scene a couple times;

[And then it was Miss. Kaya's turn to celebrate her FIRST birthday]
At 15 months Ella was just shy of 20lbs and given the okay to graduate to a BIG GIRL SEAT!
We finally got around to making the switch just a couple days ago, and I honestly almost cried. She was cool with the switch at first, but it didn't take long for her to decide she isn't really digging the new seat. She can't get as comfy as she could in the old seat. When she is tired, the car usually does the trick in putting her out but now that she is so upright it just gets her more cranky because she can't just fall asleep. Hopefully she will adjust.

Now that I have a little more time, I will attempt to keep up on Ella's blog for all of our family & friends that can't be around to enjoy her in person! She is just changing so rapidly these days and I feel bad for slacking on the updates. Our child is WILD and I do believe this picture is pretty perfectly her with the wild hair and mischievous smirk...
She's such a beautiful little girl! I can't believe that she doesn't like the front facing! She'll get used to it. With both my girls I just put them in one after they turned 1, and it made life so much easier for me, cuz they like to feel like they are part of everything going on.. every child is different though. I think that it's sweet that you almost cried-- that means it's time for another. You know you do have all this extra time now... ;)
